About Steve Ostler

FOUNDER
ONE REFUGEE

Steve Ostler’s twenty-five year professional career was with The Boyer Company, one of the largest commercial real estate firms in the Intermountain West where he was most recently the President and Chief Executive Officer.

Steve was a founder and the CEO of One Refugee, a non-profit that assists young adult refugees in secondary education and career placement. One Refugee worked with Upwardly Global to provide training resources to the students. Starting in 2019, Steve became an advisor to Upwardly Global before joining the board in 2021.

Steve has extensive experience working with for-profit and non-profit boards including: Banyan Ventures, 49 Capital, Odyssey Partners, Utah Refugee Connection, Discovery Gateway, Salt Lake Planetarium, Pioneer Theatre Company, School Institutional Trust Lands Administration and the Lands Trust Protection and Advocacy Committee. Steve also serves on the board of Utah Refugee Connection.

Steve received a BA from the University of Utah and a MBA from Harvard Business School. He has seven children and eight grandchildren.
