Murtaza built a successful career as a monitoring and evaluation expert in Afghanistan, but his work as a U.S. contractor made him a target for the Taliban. He came to the US through SIV. It was difficult to be new to the U.S. amid covid lockdowns. He started working on certifications for Microsoft, completing Microsoft office specialist master, which was the highest level. He also had experience in interpreting, analyzing, and visualizing data to increase efficient of internal data processing. He has a master’s degree in Evaluation, is certified as a Data Analyst Associate, MOS Specialist Master, and BI Reporting, and has expertise in project management and international development.
With these skills under his belt, he applied to hundreds of jobs, but got no response. Murtaza connected with Upwardly Global and got help with his resume, his interview skills, and how to find a skill-aligned job that was right for him. He was elated to get a job as a Bilingual Data Analyst for Apple, before moving on to work as a Sales Operations Lead at Microsoft. He currently works as a Sales Operation Analyst at Integra Life Sciences.
