Congressional Sub-committee Supports Diversity in the Financial Services Industry
T he House Financial Services passed H. Con. Res.140, the Financial Services Diversity Initiative. T he bill is designed to increase diversity amongst the workforce in the financial services industry and to encourage employers and educational institutions to take steps toward increasing diversity within the industry (read the press release).
Upwardly Global applauds the efforts of the Sub-committee in raising awareness amongst financial services companies. T he bill points out that, despite current efforts, the industry still lacks diversity, particularly in management ranks. To read more and share your thoughts, click here.

Upwardly Global Employer T.I.P.
T.I.P stands for “Tap Immigrant Professionals,” and these simple and actionable ideas can help your organization create a more inclusive recruitment process.
Upwardly Global T.I.P. #4: Recruiters often screen out "job-hoppers." In the U.S. , consistent movement between companies is perceived as lack of focus and committment. In many other cultures, however, this kind of movement is desired and viewed as a sign of success. With fewer choices, moving between jobs is often the only way to advance professionally, especially for women. When reviewing a foreign-born candidate’s resume, keep this difference in mind when considering tenure as a factor in selection
Upwardly Global represents talented and diverse work-authorized professionals with skills and experience across numerous functions and industries. In each newsletter, we highlight a few of our immigrant jobseekers who are currently seeking to re-enter their fields of expertise. To learn more about these and other job seekers, please contact Rebekah Kane in San Francisco (415- 834-9901) or Alison Kraus in New York (212-219-8828) .
